The Conference of European Rabbis launched its new manifesto, “A Call to End the Violent Hatred,” calling on European leaders to move beyond words and take concrete action against antisemitism, extremism and radicalization
At the press conference, CER President Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt presented seven practical measures for European governments and the EU, including cutting extremist funding, strengthening oversight of radical institutions, confronting online incitement and ensuring zero tolerance for the glorification of terrorism.
“Security is necessary. It is not sufficient. We must confront the hatred that makes the security necessary in the first place.”
The message from Brussels is clear: the time for statements is over. Europe must act!
